The Bollywood Hungama OTT Fest, held on October 3, 2024 at Taj Lands End, Mumbai brought together leading figures from the entertainment world to examine the fast-paced evolution of India’s OTT platforms. Over the course of two days, celebrities engaged in thought-provoking discussions on the shifting dynamics of digital content creation. One of the stand out sessions was of Siddharth Anand, hosted by Mayank Shekhar.

Siddharth Anand explained how he did the switch from romance to action, “I just made Anjaana Anjaani (2010) and was looking to make my next film. This is when 20th Century Fox team came to my office and offered me the remake of Knight And Day (2010). The film hadn’t come out yet. I saw it and loved it. I was surprised, like why would they think of me for an action film (laughs).”
Siddharth Anand adapted the Hollywood movie to make Bang Bang (2014). He said, “I loved the idea and it gave me the chance to do something different. I love scale. All my films, which were love stories, had a certain kind of scale. Bang Bang gave me the opportunity to do very different and scale it up.”
He added, “Sujoy Ghosh and Suresh Nair then wrote it. We also got Hrithik Roshan to star in the film. Let me say that I didn’t chose action. Action chose me!”
When asked if he would like to do a horror film, Siddharth Anand replied, “I’d love to do it not because it’s doing well at present. In fact, a film I was dying to make was a courtroom film. I also chased Shah Rukh Khan in 2011-12 to make it with him. He didn’t say no but he didn’t say yes either (laughs)!”
He continued, “I still have the script and I keep teasing him about it. It’s a film that I am still dying to make.”
