The trailer launch of Mere Husband Ki Biwi was held in Mumbai and was attended by actors Arjun Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh, Bhumi Pednekar and Harsh Gujral, producers Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshika Deshmukh and director Mudassar Aziz. The film is a fun filled fare and keeping that in mind, a reporter asked a shocking question but in a lighter vein.

Mudassar Aziz and Jackky Bhagnani were asked if the latter’s real-life biwi Rakul Preet Singh ever asked him to cut the role of Bhumi Pednekar. Deepshika Deshmukh was the first one to answer, “The shoot of the film got over even before Rakul became the ‘biwi’!”
Arjun Kapoor went next, “There’s a perception that two women on a film set can be a problem. But even two men on a set (can go through insecurity). I have worked (in two hero films) and we all go through that feeling in our minds. But with this film, readings had happened and we had even discussed our individual characters. So, I don’t think all these (insecurities) even arose on the set in the first place. This is my point of view from the outside. Jo script thi, humne wohi film shoot ki hai. I, as a third person, never saw them getting insecure of each other.”
Arjun continued, “When Rakul and Bhumi met downstairs, they hugged for 15 minutes. Only then, they told me, ‘Hi, Arjun’. Hence, there’s definitely a camaraderie between the two. It was really nice to see that in today’s generation and it deserves to be celebrated.”
Bhumi Pednekar, meanwhile, said, “Rakul is my sister and she’s married to my best friend. So, now she has also become one of my closest friends. Kisi bahut hi insecure aadmi ne yeh kahaani shuru ki hogi ki do ladkiyan ek dusre ki dushman hoti hai. Humne itne maze kiye hai ki main aapko bata nahin sakti!”
Rakul Preet Singh exulted, “Mudassar used to tell us, ‘You guys are very good friends. Toh aap log alag raho as your characters can’t stand each other’.”
Mere Husband Ki Biwi releases in cinemas on February 21.
