The trailer launch of Kajol’s upcoming film, Do Patti, was marked by a display of her trademark wit and candidness. The event, held in Mumbai, saw Kajol alongside her co-stars, Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh. As the conversation turned to the film’s theme of betrayal and lies, a journalist posed a personal question to Kajol: had she ever experienced betrayal in her own life?

Kajol’s response was swift and direct. “Don’t be daft. I am not going to share an anecdote. It is too personal. If it is a betrayal, it is too personal. I will not (share the details),” Kajol said. Her co-stars, seemingly taking a cue from her, echoed her sentiment, refusing to share any personal anecdotes about betrayal.
Kajol went on to elaborate on the universality of betrayal, stating, “We cannot share anecdotes on this topic. But we can tell you that betrayal is something that everyone experiences. If we’ve grown up as an adult, you feel it as a child sometimes, you feel it as a teenager, you will feel it as an adult and at some point in your life for sure. Otherwise, you haven’t lived life at all or you’ve been under a tree somewhere. Yes, we’ve all felt betrayal and I think we’ve portrayed it nicely also in the film.”
Kriti Sanon, joining the conversation, playfully asked the journalist if he had ever faced betrayal. The journalist, taken aback by the question, replied that he would prefer to share his experiences privately.
Set in Manali, Do Patti revolves around a murder mystery that is laced with suspense, thrill, and drama. Kajol plays a cop for the very first time on the screen and Kriti Sanon plays a double role bringing out two different shades in the film.
Do Patti is produced by Kanika Dhillon’s Kathha Pictures in association with Kriti Sanon’s Blue Butterfly Films.
