EXCLUSIVE: Megha Chakraborty reveals Mishri will not have a ‘love triangle’; says, “People are bored of watching it” : Bollywood News

Mishri promo garnered much attention on Colors which takes audiences on a journey of a sweet but orphaned girl. The latest promo also introduced the viewers to two more new leads of the show – the rich and golden hearted Raghav played by Namish Taneja and the pretty, strong-willed feminist Vaani. In an exclusive with Bollywood Hungama, Megha Chakraborty decided to talk about her new show which marks her return to television after her highly successful Star Plus show Imlie. In the same interaction, the actress also addresses rumours of the show being a love triangle.

Megha Chakraborty denies Mishri being a love triangle

In the upcoming Colors show, audiences can see one leading man and two leading women which prompted many to believe that like many other shows on television currently, Mishri too is exploring another love triangle. However, vehemently denying the same, Megha asserted that this drama will see a beautiful bond between her and Mishri.

“Sab ko yahi lag raha hai ki it is going to be a love triangle – jahan pe ek positive hai aur ek vamp hai and hero ko leke ladai hai. Ulta yahan pe I think Vani aur Mishri ka bahut hi pyara bond dekhne ko milega jo ki aapne dekha hai baaki shows mein jaise do behne ladayi karte hai waisa yahan nahi hoga. Yahan pe do behno ki bahut achha bond dekhne ko milega (Everybody feels like it is going to be a love triangle – where one will be a positive character and the other will be a vamp and the two will fight over the hero. But it is not like that. In fact, Vani and Mishri share a very lovely bond, unlike other shows on television currently where sisters are fighting over their love. You will not see any of it here. In fact, here, two women will have a sisterly and beautiful bond)”, she told Bollywood Hungama.

Megha adds that all three will be positive characters on the show

She continued, “Mishri jo hai naam show ka uska matlab hai rishton ki mithaas (The name of the show is Mishri which means sweetness which is even a part of relationships). It’s all about rishton ke (relationship) values. Yahan pe jo teen kirdaar hain wahi alag alag rishton ke values ko lekar baat karenge, ussi rishton ko importance deyenge aur story ko waise aage dikhayenge. Ismein hum woh typical triangle wala love story nahi dikhane walein hain. Jinko aisa lag raha hain, main aapko bata de rahi hoon ki waisa nahi hai. Yahan pe teeno hi positive hain (The characters in this show understand the value of relationships and its importance, and will be showcasing the same in the show. There will not be any typical love triangle like the others. For everyone who feels that way, I would like to clarify that it will not be that kind of a show. In fact, all three are positive characters here).”

Imlie actress confesses that ‘love triangles’ have been overdone on television

Megha went on to add “I don’t think it (the love triangle concept) is working kyunki log bore ho chukein hain yeh dekh dekh ke ki humesha ek ladka hota, do ladki hoti hai – ek positive aur ek negative hai aur unke beech ladai hoti hai, ek achhi aur ek villain ho jaati hai – isiliye hum log woh nahi kar rahein, Agar woh work kar raha hota toh hum wahi cheez karte, kyunki logon ko lagta hai ki aise karne se TRP milti hai. But it’s not like that. Ulta mujhe aisa lagta hai ki woh cheez work nahi karegi. Toh isiliye hum kuch naya laa rahein hai. (because people are bored seeing that it is always between one boy and two girls – one is positive and the other is negative. One becomes villain and they are fighting. But we will not be doing the same. If it was honestly working, we would tried the same method since some are of the belief that repeating it helps in TRPs, but let me tell you it is absolutely not like that. In fact, I think it will not work on TV anymore. That’s why we have tried something different”

She went on to conclude by asserting that Mishri will be a proper TV serial albeit without the triangle. “Iska matlab yeh nahi ki tum logon drama ya masala ki kami padegi. Drama aise bhi bahut hote hain jo love triangle ke baahar dekhne ko milte hain (that doesn’t mean you guys won’t get to see drama and masala on the show. There are a lot of dramatic things which can be added to the show, even outside of a love triangle, isn’t it?)”.

About Mishri

Being brought up in a village, when she is forced to marry against her choice, she finds a knight in shining armor in Raghav, who saves her but refuses to accept her. This prompts to walk away from him to refrain from being a burden to him and as she arrives in a new city with dangers at every step, she finds a sister in the modern-day strong-willed Vani. The show will air on Colors at 8:30 from July 3 onwards.
