Tina Ahuja is currently facing the wrath of the internet for making a shocking statement about period pain and cramps. In the midst of the social media movement that encourage women to openly talk about the pain, discomfort, and other period-related issues, Tina has claimed that only women from big cities, especially Mumbai, complain about suffering from cramps and undergo pain. Followed by the same, the internet, especially Reddit, has firmly reacted to her statements, mercilessly trolling her for undermining the pain and agony of a woman, being a woman herself.

Tina Ahuja says that many women in Punjab do not even realize when they undergo menopause

In an interview with Hauterfly, Tina said, “I have stayed most of the time in Chandigarh, and I have heard only these girls from Bombay speak about cramps. Half of the problem comes from setting up these circles who are talking about the problem, and sometimes the ones who don’t get cramps also start to feel it psychologically. So many women in Punjab and other small cities don’t even realise when they undergo menopause.” Her mother Sunita Ahuja also supported her daughter’s statements.

The actress blames dieting to be the reason behind period cramps and pains

Meanwhile, Tina continued, “Maybe my body is a little desi. I have never had any back pains. Everything is perfect, 28 days cycle. But here I see girls always talking about… You eat your ghee, stop dieting so much; you have a good night’s sleep, and everything becomes normal. You have a good diet. Most of the girls diet so much looking at Instagram, listening to it, that problems which don’t even exist happen.” Sunita Ahuja also recommended to include ghee in the diet but warned viewers to take doctor recommendations as the latter could cause blockages in the heart.

Reddit strongly reacts to this statement

The video has gained a lot of traction among netizens who are lashing out at Tina Ahuja and Sunita Ahuja for making these statements. “Period pain is not real guys! Trust Govinda’s wife and daughter” the title of the post read. Fans continued to react and added, “Mujhe ladka hoke pata hai yeh jhooth bol rahi hai (As a man I know, she is lying). I have seen women close to me facing this, ig that it might be different for every women but to dismiss it altogether is ridiculous. Cycle perfect kyun nahi hogi ? Life main konsi cheez ka stress hai tumhe? Jab stress ayega na life main tab ake batana ki cycle delay/prepone hui ki nahi (Why will your Cycle not be perfect? What kind of stress do you have in life? When you will have stress, then let us know whether your cycle was delayed or preponed)”. Many doctors also dropped comments on the post elaborating on the multiple conditions that women undergo in this generation.
