Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut responded to multiple reports suggesting that Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are set to portray Goddess Sita and Lord Ram, respectively, in the highly anticipated film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. According to these reports, actor Yash is also being considered for the role of Raavan. Sharing her thoughts on her social media, Kangana penned a lengthy note expressing her criticism of the casting choices for the film.

Kangana took to Instagram and wrote, “Recently I am hearing news about another coming up Bolly Ramayana… Where a skinny white rat (so-called actor) who desperately needs some sun tan and conscience he is infamous for doing nasty underhand PR about almost everyone in the industry… known for womanising and drug addiction after desperately trying to prove himself Lord Shiva in a trilogy (which no one watched or want to make more parts of) has now grown fancy to be Lord Rama…”

She further added, “Whereas a young southern superstar who is known to be self-made, a devoted family man a traditionalist also according to Valmiki ji description he looks more like Lord Rama in his complexion, demeanour and facial features… is offered to play Ravana…What kind of Kalyuga is this?? No pale-looking druggie soy boy should play Lord Rama …. Jai Shri Ram.” In the following Instagram stories, Kangana added a danger sticker along with the text, “If you hit me once I will hit you till you dead!!! Don’t mess with me stay away!!!!”

Coming to the professional front, the 36-year-old actor was last seen in Dhaakad, which also featured Arjun Rampal and Divya Dutta. The film performed poorly at the box office. Currently, Ranaut is awaiting the release of her next film, which is also her second directorial venture, Emergency. Based on the 1977 Indian Emergency, the ensemble star cast also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhry and Milind Soman in pivotal roles. It was slated to release on October 20. However, to avoid a clash with Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon’s Ganapath, Kangana cancelled the release. Ranaut has said that she will announce the release date a month prior along with its trailer in a tweet.
