Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of her beloved film Khoobsurat. Released in 2014, Khoobsurat holds a special place in Sonam’s heart, and to mark the milestone, the actress took to Instagram to express her gratitude for the film.

Sharing the movie’s trailer, Sonam reminisced about her time playing the character Milli, stating, “It’s been 10 years since I played Milli, and in many ways, I’m still her and she’s still me… Forever grateful for all the joy and the memories from this incredible thing we made.”

The Story of Khoobsurat
Directed by Shashanka Ghosh, Khoobsurat is a modern adaptation of the 1980 classic film of the same name. The story follows Milli, a quirky and lively physiotherapist who finds herself in a royal household, struggling to break through the family’s cold exterior. As she uncovers their hidden emotional struggles, she gradually wins them over—particularly the young prince, whom she develops feelings for, despite his engagement to someone else. The film’s vibrant storytelling and unique characters made it a memorable project for the cast and viewers alike.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Siddharth Roy Kapur, Khoobsurat featured a stellar cast including Fawad Khan, Kirron Kher, Ratna Pathak, and Aamir Raza Hussain, alongside Sonam Kapoor. The film was widely appreciated for its light-hearted, feel-good narrative and Sonam’s portrayal of the free-spirited Milli.
Sonam Kapoor’s Acting Hiatus and Return
After Khoobsurat, Sonam Kapoor went on to star in several films, with her last major appearance being The Zoya Factor in 2019. Post that, she made a cameo in AK vs AK and starred in the 2023 thriller Blind, where she played a visually impaired investigator. Following her son Vayu’s birth in 2022, Sonam took a break from acting and moved to London with her husband Anand Ahuja.
