Prime Video’s The Village Takes Over Chennai Metro with a thrilling adventure ride; leaves travellers perplexed
In celebration of the launch of Tamil horror series, The Village, Prime Video surprised commuters in Chennai with a special treat, creating a stir among Arya fans and horror enthusiasts. In a never-before-seen high impact activity, Chennai metro commuters were in for a surprise of a lifetime, as they witnessed a group of mutants from the village of Kattiyal taking over Chennai Metro, accompanied by none other than the series’ lead Arya and director Milind Rau.
Raising the curiosity meter through the roof, the mutants had commuters excited and terrified in equal measure. Bringing the horrors of the graphic novel from reel to real seemed super-exciting and definitely an unforgettable experience for the metro riders.
The Village premiered on November 24 on Amazon Prime Video and received a lot of love from celebrities who attended its special screening in Chennai. Filmmakers Pushkar-Gayathri, who watched the first 3 episodes, appreciated the show saying, “We’ve watched the first three episodes of The Village and it is a very interesting concept. With all episodes now on Prime Video, we’re eager to watch the remaining, which is the best thing we can say about it!”

Actor Sibi Sathyaraj went on to add, “The series is a binge worthy one. Milind’s first film Aval was a trend-setter in horror. I believe all of you will enjoy watching this series.” Actor and Singer Vijay Yesudas also praised filmmaker Milind’s work stating, “To pull this storyline in 6 episodes is not an easy thing and Milind has done that really well. My best wishes to the entire team.”
The Village is directed by Milind Rau and produced by B.S.Radhakrishnan under the banner of Studio Shakthi Productions. Featuring an ensemble cast of Divya Pillai, Aazhiya, Aadukalam Naren, Geroge Maryan, Poo Ram, Muthukumar, Kalai Raani, John Kokken, Pooja, Jayaprakash, Arjun, and Thalaivasal Vijay, in pivotal roles. The Village is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video in Tamil, dubbed in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi, with subtitles in English.
