Last week, Vettaiyan’s producers Lyca Productions shared news about the film’s premiere on social media. The production house went to its X account on Sunday to share the film’s new poster. It showed Rajinikanth aiming a pistol at someone off-screen. He had black sunglasses and a blue shirt on, along with a smile. The caption said, “In Cinemas releasing worldwide October 2024. Kuri vechachu. VETTAIYAN is all set to take charge in cinemas this OCTOBER (calendar emoticon) Get ready to chase down the prey!” The production firm previously announced the film’s title teaser on Rajinikanth’s 73rd birthday.
The film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Rajinikanth was observed shooting the film in a number of places, including Trivandrum, Tirunelveli, and Tuticorin.
Rajinikanth was last seen in Lal Salaam, a film starring his daughter Aishwarya. The Tamil sports drama explored topics such as caste oppression and religion persecution. It received mixed reviews upon its debut. The major actors in Lal Salaam are Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth, with Rajinikanth appearing in a prolonged cameo as Moideen Bhai.
