Rani Mukerji, who is quite rooted to her Bengali culture, along with her entire Mukerji family as well as cousin Kajol, hosts the lavish Durga Pandal and they hosted the same in SNDT College, Santacruz, Mumbai this year. The actress also actively participates in all functions and rituals. As Navami Pooja and Dussehra was celebrated on October 12, the actress became a part of the traditional Sindoor Khela ceremony and she was seen with her Dil Bole Hadippa co-star Sherlyn Chopra.

Rani Mukerji showcased her faith and was seen performing a pooja for the Sindoor Khela ceremony wherein she was seen sporting the traditional Bengali saree as she continued with the rituals.
She and Sherlyn Chopra bumped into each other during the Sindoor Khela ceremony where the latter tried to touch the feet of the senior actress. However, the sweet actress politely refused and instead followed the Sindoor Khela ritual where they applied red vermillion on each other. The video received much momentum on social media wherein while some fans wondered about Rani’s refusal, a few others clarified that Rani was just stopping her because it is a Bengali custom to not allow anyone to touch somebody else’s feet amid the presence of Goddess Durga.
Readers would be aware that the Mukerji’s Durga Pandal was a starry affair where many actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Jaya Bachchan and daughter Shweta Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and others visited the same to seek the blessings of the Goddess. Apart from that, several videos of Kajol and Rani bonding during the Durga Pooja ceremony found its way on social media that made fans nostalgic.
