Saif Ali Khan starrer Devara: Part 1 hit theaters last Friday, and the actor has been busy with promotions. In an interview with India Today, Saif discussed about his four children stating there’s no pressure for them to follow in his footsteps and pursue acting, although two—Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan—are already on that path.

Saif Ali Khan reveals his kids are free to choose their own path; says, “There’s no pressure on them to become an actor”

During the interview, Saif said, “Carrying the family legacy forward, in terms of being a good person, or a successful person, or someone who has served the country well is different to being a movie star. There’s no pressure on them to become an actor, even though I think it’s a great job.”

He further added, “Two of the elder kids are already actors, or want to be… Tim, at one point, said that he can’t bear the thought of getting up in front of people and saying lines, I would be petrified! I said that I completely understand. But now he tells me he’s looking forward to his school play. The youngest one is a born performer, if you ever see him, and I know where that comes from. So, there’s no pressure. It’s a great job. But, for me, they could be school teachers… As long as you’re happy.”

Saif Ali Khan was previously married to actor Amrita Singh, with whom he has two children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. The couple separated in 2004. Saif also has two sons, Taimur and Jehangir Ali Khan, with Kareena Kapoor. Sara debuted in acting with Kedarnath in 2018, while Ibrahim is set to make his debut in Sarzameen alongside Kajol.

Saif made his Telugu film debut in Devara: Part 1, playing the antagonist. The Pan-India action film, starring Jr NTR and Janhvi Kapoor, is directed by Kortala Siva and released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The film has grossed Rs. 100 crores domestically and Rs. 200 crores globally in just two days.
