One of the most memorable events of the year or maybe the decade was the grandest bash held at Jamnagar, months before the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. The three-day-long affair was graced not just by Bollywood actors but also international artists like Rihanna. Moreover, globally reputed personalities like Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates also made their presence felt. Pictures and videos from the celebration broke the internet and everyone was curious what the experience was like at these parties. During an interaction with Mayank Shekhar of Mid-Day, Sara Ali Khan, who was present at the bash in the Gujarat town, opened up about it.

At the beginning, Sara Ali Khan joked, “With our roti, we were eating gold. Yeah, I swear. And there were diamonds everywhere!” She then stated, “What do you mean, yaar? It was a very nice, lovely, hospitable event. I have gone to school with Anant. I have known Radhika while growing up. And Nita ma’am (Nita Ambani) has been the chairperson of Dhirubhai Ambani International School (where Sara studied). They were very warm and welcoming.”

When asked about her favourite memory, she replied, “The moment when I saw Anant and Radhika signing the hastaakshar papers and looking at each other with a lot of love. I think everybody kind of looked at them and were like ‘Oh the Ambani family…wow…gold’! But this was a very human moment. Everyone looked at it externally and were like ‘Let’s review what everybody is wearing’, ‘Every actor is here’, ‘everyone is performing’ etc. But there were those real moments”

She spoke about another lovely instance from the bash, “Nita ma’am did a Bharatanatyam performance for Anant and she didn’t miss a single beat. She performed with a lot of grace but there was also mamta in her eyes during the performance. Moments like these stood out for me.”
