The trailer release of Rohit Shetty’s latest action extravaganza Singham Again was nothing short of a festival. As soon as the promo was released, one felt that it clearly lived up to the hype around it. It was also the lengthiest trailer in Hindi cinema history with its runtime being close to five minutes. The footage showed Ajay Devgn’s might as Singham in the third Singham movie, along with the likes of Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan. But one person who succeeded in standing on her own was Deepika Padukone.

The actress plays Shakti Shetty aka Lady Singham. Her entry in the trailer as she gets out of a police vehicle was met with hoots and claps at the event. Her heroics in the trailer further excited her fans. The way she says, “Main Lady Singham hain re” and roughs up a baddie was enough for the audience to applaud her further. This indicated that her action sequences in the film are something to lookout for.
Singham Again is the first time that Deepika is playing a cop. This is not the first time that a leading lady is playing a police officer. But the actress stood apart from the rest mostly due to two reasons – her bindaas attitude and body language and her method of uttering her lines, which is very much what the single screen audience loves. In other words, Deepika literally killed it, despite the presence of a plethora of co-stars.
Singham Again is also Deepika’s first film after she delivered a cute daughter. Going by the trailer and her glimpse in it, it seems that she couldn’t have chosen a better subject to mark the occasion. Interestingly, at the trailer launch of the film, Ranveer Singh, her husband and co-star, pointed out that the movie is also the debut of their daughter since the little one was in her mother’s womb when she shot the film.
Singham Again is all set to roar this Diwali on November 1.
