Actor Triptii Dimri expressed her nerves while working alongside talented co-stars Vicky Kaushal and Rajkummar Rao in the films Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. She mentioned it took her some time to feel comfortable around Vicky, whose impressive dance skills left her in awe. Triptii also commended Rajkummar for effortlessly handling challenging scenes, reflecting on her growth as a performer. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, she revealed that acting wasn’t her first passion, but she chose to pursue it because she wanted to avoid a conventional lifestyle.

Triptii Dimri reveals she was nervous working with Vicky Kaushal in Bad Newz; says, “I didn’t even interact with Vicky properly”

Triptii began her career with leading roles in films like Laila Majnu, Bulbbul, and Qala, but she gained mainstream recognition with a supporting role in the film Animal. When asked if she felt a shift after Animal as she transitioned to more commercial projects like Bad Newz and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, Triptii clarified that she had signed both films before Animal was released. She acknowledged feeling nervous on set and said, “I don’t want to ever get to a point where I don’t like acting. I want to go to a set and enjoy the process. Drama is something I’ve really enjoyed doing, but then comedy happened, and every day on set, I was like, ‘I don’t know acting, I’m back to square one’.”

She further added, “I would see a Vicky Kaushal and a Rajkummar Rao killing it. They would read the lines and make them into something so beautiful… There are films where you have to be on set and improvise… With comedy, you have to be awake all the time. With drama, you can take your time… I find it more difficult. But now I’ve found my peace there also. Earlier, with Vicky, I was so nervous. For three days, I was (frozen). We shot the song first. I didn’t even interact with Vicky properly because I was so nervous looking at him perform. It took me 5-10 days to get used to the crew, the scale of the film, the director…”

She experienced something similar while filming Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. “Archana Puran Singh, such brilliant actors, you’re like, ‘How are they doing it?’ We would perform, and there would be crew members and background artists who would just laugh. Rajkummar can finish a two-page monologue in one go, without messing up the lines. There’s so much to learn, every day.” Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is set to release on October 11, after which Triptii will appear alongside Kartik Aaryan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, scheduled for a Diwali release.
