Sharing a glimpse of the chemistry of the fresh pair Rajkummar Rao with Triptii Dimri was the recently released trailer of the upcoming entertainer Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video. While the trailer piqued the interest of audience with its quirks and gags, many were left surprised to see Mallika Sherawat return to Bollywood. The actress’ presence has definitely caught some off guard and even during the trailer launch, this interesting surprise was a matter of discussion.

Producer and head honcho of T-Series, Bhushan Kumar explained in a clip shared by Filmfare on social media that this was the idea of the filmmaker Raaj Shaandliyaa and added, “She has not done this kind of role in a very long time”. While handing over the mic to Raaj, co-producer Vipul D Shah interrupted the moment by adding “Raaj ki fantasy hai yeh”. As the audience erupted with laughter, he made a reference to one of the iconic tracks of Sherawat and continued “Aap successful hote ho toh aapko lagta hai, Bheegey Hont Tere…”
Meanwhile, a rather embarrassed Raaj decided to respond to this remark and shared, “See I have made a film about middle class family but have used names big names such as Rajkummar, Mallika, Shah as much as possible, so that these biggies make the film look classier and expensive.” Jokes apart, he continued to insist that he approached Mallika because she represented the role which was of a modern woman from the 90s. “The reason I brought in Mallika was that the role that is written, it suited her well. The role tries to depict the ‘modern woman’ of the late 1990s. Mallika fitted the role perfectly. That is why we cast her. Otherwise, I have no relationship with her.” he stated.
Speaking about Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, the film also boasts of an ensemble supporting cast like Vijay Raaz, Archana Puran Singh, Tiku Talsania, among others and is slated to release on October 11, 2024.
