A little more than a month is left for the release of Singham Again. It has a huge star cast, comprising Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor and Tiger Shroff and moreover, it’s directed by the blockbuster director Rohit Shetty. Trade experts told us that the hype for the film is sky high.

Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, “There’s a tremendous excitement for Singham Again. Bajirao Singham is a huge brand. People have loved the first two parts. They are in awe and in admiration of Bajirao Singham and his heroic tasks. Even during the last film of the cop universe, Sooryavanshi (2021), when Singham made an entry, there was a frenzy in cinemas. It came shortly after the pandemic and yet, it worked as the cop universe is huge. Hence, I feel Singham Again will also start in a very big way.”

Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst said, “Singham Again has a mammoth ensemble cast of big stars and boasts one of the most prolific directors. It is one of the biggest films of the year so far. It is also a successful franchise and all its earlier films have worked well. Hence, we wait for the songs and promos with bated breath. We hope that it brings a lot of cheer at the box office.”

Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal agreed, “There’s 100% excitement. I am getting great feedback. Can you tell me the last time you saw such a big assembly of stars in a movie? That’s what the masses and classes are excited about.” Trade analyst Atul Mohan agreed, “There’s an excitement as it looks like a film with a lot of action and masala.”

Box office talk

Looking at the excitement, trade expects fireworks at the box office. Raj Bansal predicted, “If the film is good, it surely will be Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn’s biggest hit.” Taran Adarsh also said it’s possible as “Rohit and Ajay are a volatile combination.”

Girish Johar said, “We would want that to happen. I’ll be happy as a fan and a fraternity member that it becomes the biggest hit for them as it has all the chances.

Clash of the Titans

Taran Adarsh, however, added, “My only concern is that when two big films are releasing, there will be a lot of negativity pre and post-release.” Singham Again clashes with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 at the box office on Friday, November 1.

Atul Mohan, however, remarked, “Two films can be accommodated and both can work. There have been so many examples like Dil and Ghayal, Lagaan and Gadar, Welcome and Taare Zameen Par, etc. So how much business it will do depends on the film and its content.”
